Aizawl, Dec. 1 -- In one of the more striking narcotics hauls reported this year, officials ofthe Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department, assisted by the Falkawn Joint Action Committee (JAC) and Assam Rifles personnel, seized nearly 4 kg of methamphetamine tablets late Sunday near the main gate of the Zoram Medical College & Hospital (ZMC&H) at Falkawn on the outskirts of Aizawl.

The operation, conducted around the busy hospital junction, resulted in the recovery of 3.990 kg of methamphetamine-approximately 40,000 tablets-suspected to have originated in Myanmar.

Authorities said the consignment was en route out of the state when the joint team intercepted it.
