New Delhi, Feb. 15 -- Delhi saw an unusually warm February afternoon on Sunday, as temperatures across the city rose to 28 degrees Celsius (degC), departing nearly 4 degrees above normal for this time of the year.
At Safdarjung, Delhi's base weather station, the maximum temperature reached 28.5degC, the second-highest reading recorded for the month, according to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Previously, on February 10, the city's maximum elevated to 28.6degC. The weather observatory at Ridge was the hottest in the national capital on Sunday, logging temperatures of 28.8degC.
Even as the mercury soared, the minimum for Delhi settled at 11.1degC, keeping the mornings cooler.
