New Delhi, Jan. 13 -- The national capital on Tuesday woke up to a chilly wintry morning, recording the lowest minimum temperature so far in the month at 3 degrees C.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the temperature in the morning hours at the Safdarjung observatory was 3 degrees C, which was 4.4 points below the normal for the season.

The IMD has said that usually the minimum temperature between January 11 and January 15 is around 7.4 degrees C, and January 16 to January 20 is 7.6 degrees C.

The weatherman has forecast that chilly winds may be present and, the sky is likely to be partly cloudy with presence of mist/ haze during the night.
