Chennai, March 20 -- The Madras Export Processing Zone-Special Ecnomic
Zone (MEPZ SEZ) continues to strengthen Tamil Nadu's industrial landscape
with fresh approvals to the tune of Rs185 crores, with inclusive hiring that
including 70 transgenders.
The approvals were made at its Unit Approval Committee (UAC) meeting, chaired
by Alex Paul Menon, Zonal Development Commissioner, MEPZ SEZ for the Tamil
Nadu, Andaman & Puducherry (TAP) Region.
The meeting sanctioned new industrial and export-oriented units (EOUs), driving
a total investment of Rs 185 crore and generating 2054 new job opportunities
across diverse sectors.
