Hyderabad, Sept. 24 -- Mental health challenges are emerging as a major concern among Generation Z, particularly those aged between 17 and 25 years. Research studies have shown that poor family dynamics, marked by high conflict, lack of cohesion, and ineffective communication, significantly raise the risk of depression, according to experts.
The lack of independence, coupled with discouragement from parents, has also been linked to higher vulnerability to depressive disorders in this age group, said Dr Naresh Purohit, Advisor, National Mental Health Programme.
