Srinagar, Aug. 30 -- Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti today urged the central government to announce an immediate financial relief package for people affected by recent floods, cloudbursts and landslides in the union Territory.
In a post on X, Mehbooba said the devastation caused by natural calamities has left many families homeless, destroyed infrastructure and claimed precious lives, with Jammu bearing the brunt of the destruction.
"Government of India ( GOI) must urgently announce a financial relief package similar to the one after 2014 floods. This time special attention must be given to Jammu which has suffered the most," she said.
