Srinagar, April 12 -- Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday wrote to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, thanking them for their "courageous and principled" opposition to the Waqf Amendment Act.

In identical letters to three Chief Ministers, Mehbooba accused the ruling dispensation at the Centre of promoting a "majoritarian tide" that endangers India's foundational values of plurality and diversity.
