Shillong, Oct. 22 -- The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), a constitutional body in Meghalaya, today passed an official resolution urging the Centre to exclude the tribal areas under its jurisdiction from the Office Memorandum (OM) issued by the union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).

On September 8, the MoEFCC had issued an OM exempting the extraction of atomic, critical, and strategic minerals from public consultation.
