Shillong, Jan. 15 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday said the government is working aggressively to complete the remaining stretches of fencing along the International Border with Bangladesh.
He said the central government is closely monitoring the progress of the construction of the fence along the International Border.
"We are moving very aggressively on that and I hope that the international border will be completely fenced soon," Sangma said.
Sangma said that about 40 km of the 443-km border fencing remains incomplete, with issues such as population concerns, land acquisition, and court cases hindering progress.
