Shillong, Aug. 2 -- The Meghalaya government has welcomed the opposition Trinamool Congress (TMC's) suggestion to seek Supreme Court intervention into the issue of illegal coal mining and transportation in the State.
"We welcome it. There is nothing to hide. Whether it is the Supreme Court or any other investigating agency, we are open to scrutiny," Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home, Prestone Tynsong said.
He said instructions have been given to the district authorities, including the Superintendents of Police to ensure that there is no illegal coal mining and transportation.
