Shillong, July 31 -- The United Democratic Party (UDP), an ally of the ruling National People's Party (NPP), has strongly condemned the arrest of two Catholic nuns in Chhattisgarh and called for their immediate release.



Two Kerala-based nuns - Sister Preeti Mary and Sister Vandana Francis - of Assisi Sisters of Mary Immaculate (ASMI), were arrested at Durg railway station in Chhattisgarh on July 25 over alleged human trafficking and forced religious conversion.
