Shillong, Aug. 12 -- The Meghalaya government would submit its report to Justice (retired) BP Katakey committee on the mysterious disappearance of nearly 4000 metric tonnes of coal within 30 days.

A cabinet minister in the Conrad Sangma-led government had speculated that the 4,000 metric tonnes of coal dumped at Diengngan village and Rajaju village depot in South West Khasi Hills district might have been washed away by monsoon rain to Bangladesh.

"I have asked the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills district to conduct an inquiry into the disappearance of the illegally mined 4000 metric tonnes of coal. They have assured me that a report would be submitted to the Committee within 30 days," Katakey told UNI today.
