Shillong, July 13 -- An FIR against 41 persons from Shillong who attended a wedding party at Greenwood Resort in Assam has been filed for allegedly violating the COVID-19 protocols.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday reiterated that strict action will be taken against the wedding revelers for not providing proper information to authorities and risking the lives of citizens.
The FIR was lodged by East Khasi Hills District Magistrate, Matsiewdor War Nongbri on Monday.
The wedding feast took place at Greenwood Resort, Guwahati on June 27 and another reception was held in Shillong on July 2, following which two of the attendees were tested positive for COVID-19.
