Williamnagar, Jan. 26 -- The Meghalaya Police have recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and explosives buried in a forested area near Dura Bawegra village under the East Garo Hills district, police said on Monday.

Police suspected the stashed arms, ammunition and explosives were hidden by rebels of the erstwhile Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA), a banned militant outfit, and the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) that was operating in the region.
