Shillong, June 29 -- Meghalaya police have arrested four miscreants for their alleged assault on people a few days ago as part of a larger group of bikers.

"Four of the miscreants have been arrested so far. Following their interrogation, their involvement has been confirmed. The district police are on the job to apprehend the rest of culprits," Sylvester Nongtnger, the district police chief of East Khasi Hills, said.

The four have been produced before the court today and the police have sought five days of police remand to interrogate them in custody.

Last Friday, a group of bikers assaulted a traffic policeman while being stopped near Mawlai for not wearing helmets. On their way back they assaulted a Swiggy delivery boy near Jaiaw.
