Shillong, March 21 -- Meghalaya government on Friday signed an MoU with Sarojini Damodaran Foundation to provide scholarships to meritorious students coming from economically disadvantaged families.

The MoU was signed in the office chamber of Chief Secretary Donald Philips Wahlang between the Meghalaya Education Department and Sarojini Damodaran Foundation officials.

The scholarship programme, Vidyadhan, would be for class 11 students to cover their education expenses till they complete their graduation, Principal Consultant at Sarojini Damodaran Foundation, Pankaj Tripathi said.

He said eligible students can apply online free of cost for the scholarship once their class 10 results are out.
