Shillong, Feb. 7 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday said that the state has initiated interventions to promote collaboration and partnership with Japan, leveraging the strong bilateral relationship that India shares with Japan.

"We firmly believe in a strong partnership, trust, and relationship with Japan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken every step to ensure that the foundation laid between the two nations benefits both for economic prosperity," Sangma said while addressing the 5th India-Japan Conclave held in Guwahati.

He noted that the vision of the Prime Minister Modi has inspired Meghalaya to take advantage of the strong bilateral ties with Japan.
