Shillong, Feb. 9 -- The Meghalaya High Court today directed the state government to submit a detailed report within 10 days related to the illegal coal mining and arrest persons involved in connection with the February 5 explosion at an illegal coal mine that claimed 27 lives in East Jaintia Hills district.

A division bench of Justices Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew and Wanlura Diengdoh issued the directives, while hearing the matter linked to the mining disaster at Mynsngat-Thangsko area.

The court also warned that accountability would be fixed, if necessary further orders would be passed for institution of a proper investigation and inquiry, by an independent or central agency.
