Nongpoh, Nov. 11 -- Noting that 50 per cent of Meghalaya population is below the age of 20, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday said that it was necessary for the government to invest and focus on youth.
"If you look at the policies and programs of the state government, it focusses on the youth of the state and our approach now is not scheme centred but stakeholder centred," he said, addressing the closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebrations of Ri Bhoi District Sports Association (RBDSA) here in Ri Bhoi district.
Sangma also informed that investments in the youth through different programs of Sports, Arts, Music, Tourism, Entrepreneurship etc are aggressive and huge because the youth of the state are important stakeholders.
