Shillong, Sept. 9 -- Meghalaya Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh today said that the Conrad Sangma-led government is fully committed to fight the drug menace through a multi-pronged strategy.
Replying to a Special Motion on Rise in Drug Addiction & HIV brought by opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) legislators Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit and Adelbert Nongrum, Lyngdoh said that the alarming rise in drug trafficking and addiction, particularly among children and youth, calls for urgent and decisive action.
He appealed to society-parents, teachers, and community leaders to join this collective fight against the drug menace.
