Shillong, July 4 -- A special POCSO court in Meghalaya has sentenced a man to one-year simple imprisonment for peeping at a child while she was taking bath in a bathroom, an official said today.
The Court of B. Joshi, Special Judge (POCSO), Mendipathar, North Garo Hills District in a judgment on June 13 convicted Mikseng B. Marak under Section 354 (C) of Indian Penal Code. Mikseng was directed to pay a fine of Rs 1000.
As per the FIR, on December 26, 2019 at around 4 pm, Mikseng peeped at the girl while she was taking a bath in the bathroom, Pawar Swapnil Vasantrao, the district police chief of North Garo Hills said.
He said the case was investigated by Woman Police Sub-Inspector Bailine Sangma.
