Shillong, May 14 -- The Executive Body of the Meghalaya College Principals' Council (MCPC) on Wednesday urged the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) to convene the Academic Council to resolve some of the outstanding academic issues.
NEHU is the only affiliating university in Meghalaya and oversees about 85 affiliated institutions and nearly 75,000 students.
Underscoring NEHU's pivotal role in Meghalaya's education landscape, the MCPC said issues such as granting of new and renewal of existing affiliation, amendment to affiliation ordinances and regulations to align with the NEP 2020 framework, approval of syllabi for the fourth year of undergraduate programmes, and others must be resolved at the earliest.
