Shillong, Aug. 5 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today condoled the death of former Governor Satya Pal Malik, who passed away today in New Delhi at the age of 79 after a prolonged illness.
Satya Pal Malik had served as the 19th Governor of Meghalaya from August 20, 2020, till his retirement in October 2022.
Mourning the death of Satya Pal Malik, Sangma wrote on X, "Satya Pal ji was a warm and gracious individual, deeply enthusiastic about the development of Meghalaya. His boldness, clarity of thought, and unwavering support in our collective efforts will always be remembered."
"I join the people of Meghalaya in extending heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace," he further wrote.
