Shillong, Dec. 11 -- Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday held a meeting of the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB) at Lumpyngngad, Shillong.
Sangma, who also holds portfolio of Forests & Environment Department, said that it was necessary to review the working of the State Pollution Control Board.
"We had positive discussions and reviewed the working of the board and discussed on streamlining the working and functioning of the board to ensure that it is more effective," he said.
Sangma informed that another review and follow up meeting will be held in the month of January to chalk out measures to be taken to expand the scope of the board to effectively implement the mandates of the Air, Water and Environment Acts.
