Longkhum, April 2 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People's Party (NPP) National President, Conrad Sangma on Wednesday campaigned for party candidate I. Abenjang ahead of the upcoming bye-election to the 28-KoridangAssembly Constituency in Nagaland, scheduled on April 9.

Sangma arrived at Longkhum village in Mokokchung district, where he was accorded a traditional Ao welcome.

He interacted with village elders and the Village Council Chairman at the community hall, where he later addressed a public gathering.

Describing the visit as historic, Sangma combined political outreach with a deep respect for local history by paying tribute to the legendary Naga nationalist, Imkongmeren Ao.
