Shillong, March 26 -- The Meghalaya Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal for purchasing a building in Bangalore for accommodation of visitors, especially students from the state.
Speaking to reporters after the Cabinet, Social Welfare Minister and Government spokesperson Paul Lyngdoh said that the proposed guest house would have separate spaces for 50 boys and an equal number of girls.
"A Meghalaya House is also in the pipeline," the minister said, but added that as of now, the guest house was of priority, especially keeping in mind the needs of students from the state find it difficult to arrange accommodation at high prices.
