Shillong, Jan. 18 -- A delegation of BJP leaders from Meghalaya met Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday and urged him for opening of trade route to Bangladesh through Meghalaya.
The delegation led by lone BJP Minister Alexander Laloo Hek along with state party president Rikman Momin also took up the pending issues related to the implementation of Inner Line Permit and inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the Eight Schedule of the Constitution, BJP Spokesperson, Mariahom Kharkrang said.
"We impressed upon him on the need to open international trade route to Bangladesh through Meghalaya to reduce the travel time for transshipment of goods to the other parts of India," Kharkrang said.
