Shillong, Aug. 19 -- Meghalaya BJP Vice President Bernard N Marak has written to Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the convenor of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), to oust the ruling National People's Party (NPP)-led Executive Committee in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).

In a letter to Sarma submitted on Monday night, Marak, the lone BJP member in the 30-member GHADC House, alleged the "systemic failure" of the Meghalaya government, which is also led by the NPP, to uphold the constitutional mandate of the GHADC and of continued neglect of the Garo Accord.
