Shillong , Jan. 5 -- The Meghalaya unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today defended the newly enacted Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025 (VB-G RAM G Act), accusing the opposition Congress of spreading misinformation as part of a campaign to protect the "corruption" associated with the former MGNREGA scheme.
"Misinformation is being spread that this job guarantee scheme (VB-G RAM G, Act) will snatch away rural employment. Whereas the truth is that the new law strengthens the legal right to rural employment," BJP Meghalaya general secretary, Wankitbok Pohshna told reporters.
