Shillong, Sept. 8 -- Suspended Voice of the People Party (VPP) legislator, Adelbert Nongrum today asked the Speaker, Thomas Sangma why he was allotted a back seat in the assembly.
During the first day of the autumn session of the assembly, Nongrum raised and said, "May I seek clarification why I, being a VPP MLA, be in this position. Why are you putting me in the back seat?"Nongrum, who represents the North Shillong constituency, was suspended on March 24, 2025 for alleged anti-party activities.
The Speaker asked the legislator under which rule he was raising the issue of his seat allotment to which Nongrum said that he was not raising any point of order but merely seeking clarification.
