Shillong, Jan. 27 -- Meghalaya has achieved a 5.6-fold return on public investments of Rs. 24 crores through the concert economy from seven major concerts hosted last year, according to Governor C.H. Vijayshankar.

He said the concert economy has directly created over 5,600 jobs and benefitted thousands more indirectly by strengthening livelihoods and local enterprise.

"This year's edition brought global artists, while empowering our young musicians through the revamped Chief Minister's Meghalaya Grassroot Music Program," Vijayshankar said, adding that the Shillong Literary Festival continues its momentum, honouring stories and imagination, and reinforcing ties through art, music, and shared ideals.
