Shillong, April 3 -- The Meghalaya government has accelerated preparations for the 39th National Games, to be hosted in Meghalaya in 2027, with team preparation activities now in full swing across the state, a government official said.

In line with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma's vision of making Meghalaya a sporting powerhouse, the state is making unprecedented investments in sports infrastructure, athlete development, and youth engagement, Commissioner and Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. Vijay Kumar D said.
