Shillong, Aug. 7 -- Dr Ricky Andrew Jones Syngkon, Voice of the People Party (VPP) MP from Shillong parliamentary seat, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, urging him to include Khasi language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
"The Khasi language, spoken by about 14 lakh of the indigenous population of Meghalaya as well
as in some neighbouring states, is a vital symbol of the state's rich cultural and historical heritage," Syngkon informed the Prime Minister.
