Shillong, Feb. 25 -- Meghalaya's ruling National People's Party (NPP) would form the new Executive Committee in the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), equivalent to the cabinet, with the support of its ally the United Democratic Party (UDP) and two Independents.
Veteran NPP leader Thombor Shiwat will continue as the Chief Executive Member (CEM), while Lasky Rymbai of the UDP will also continue as the Deputy CEM of JHADC.
Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar said NPP on its own has won 13 seats and has received the support of three newly elected UDP who are also coalition partners both at the assembly and the JHADC.
