Shillong, Dec. 16 -- Four major stakeholders of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), a Central university in Meghalaya, have appealed to the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Shillong Campus, Prof Sumarbin Umdor, to quit his post in the larger interest of the university.
In a joint letter to Umdor on Monday night, the NEHU Teachers' Association (NEHUTA), NEHU Students' union (NEHUSU), NEHU Non-Teaching Staff Association (NEHUNSA) and the Khasi Students' union (KSU) NEHU unit said Umdor has not been able to or not allowed to function in accordance with the assurances given by the representatives of the union Ministry of Education (MoE) to the students and teachers.
