Shillong, Dec. 14 -- District authorities in this state capital of Meghalaya on Saturday relaxed curfew in the violence-hit areas under Lumdiengjri and Sardar Police Stations for nine hours. A one-day special session of the State Assembly will be held on December 19 to adopt a government resolution to implement the Inner Line Permit (ILP) after President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019. The district authorities clamped Curfew after violence erupted in the state, in protest against the passage of the Bill in both the Houses of Parliament.
