Ranchi, Sept. 18 -- The Jharkhand government has announced the construction of a Medico City in the state capital Ranchi with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) providing a Rs 2800 crore funding, Health Minister Irfan Ansari said today.

The ambitious project will be developed near the Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Allied Sciences (RINPAS).

The Health Minister hailed the project as a historic decision for Jharkhand's healthcare sector. He emphasised that the establishment of Medico City will ensure people no longer need to travel outside the state for treatment of critical illnesses.
