Kolkata, Nov. 15 -- In a significant development, a medical student with family roots in North Dinajpur, West Bengal was arrested yesterday morning in connection with the recent explosion near Delhi's Red Fort.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) picked up Nishar Alam, an MBBS student at Al-Falah University in Haryana, from the busy Surjapur Bazar area in the North Dinajpur district.
According to NIA sources, a special team conducted the operation around dawn, detaining Nishar at the market junction before taking him for preliminary questioning.
Family and local residents said that although Nishar's immediate family has been living in Ludhiana for decades, their ancestral home is in Konial village under Dalkhola police station.
