Shimla, Oct. 21 -- In a remarkable feat of medical skill and compassion, doctors at the Atal Institute of Medical Superspeciality Hospital (AIMSH) in Chamiyana, near Shimla, successfully removed a coin that had been lodged in a woman's food pipe for an astonishing 23 years.
The 23-year-old woman had accidentally swallowed the coin as a child and lived with it unknowingly for over two decades. It was only when she began experiencing persistent difficulty in swallowing and a noticeable loss of appetite that she sought medical attention at AIMSH.
