Los Angeles, June 27 -- Director Jon Watts, best known for his highly successful MCU 'Spider Man' films, revealed that he dropped out of the upcoming 'Fantastic Four: First Steps' movie due to fatigue caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, stating that he was "out of gas."



While initially onboard, and even drafting some of the script, Watts dropped out of the project in 2022, post the release of his acclaimed 'Spider Man: No Way Home', according to The Hollywood Reporter.



Speaking at the Mediterrane Film Festival in Malta, Watt said he needed to take some time off to recover from a gruelling pandemic shoot and postproduction process.
