Imphal, April 8 -- The Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) has expressed deep concern over a series of recent violent incidents involving children in the state, calling for immediate and decisive action from authorities to ensure their safety and justice.
MCPCR Chairperson Keisam Pradipkumar today mentioned the case of the alleged rape and murder of an eight-year-old internally displaced girl from Moreh. The child, who had gone missing from a relief camp in Imphal East district, was found dead beneath the Singjamei bridge on April 6. The incident has sparked outrage and renewed concerns over the safety of children in relief camps.
