New Delhi, Dec. 21 -- Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has imposed fines amounting to a total of Rs 54.98 lakhs against those induging in biomass burning, illegal dumping of Construction and Development waste and other violations during the month of December.
A total of 7,023 challans adding up to a penalty or challan amount of Rs 43.26 lakhs has been issued during the enforcement drive to check illegal dumping of construction & dumping waste and other violations causing air pollution across Delhi. Action was taken against offenders and penalities were imposed in accordance with Provisions of DMC Act, solid waste mangament regulations and NGT directions.
