Madrid, Aug. 25 -- Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Real Madrid maintained its perfect start to the season with a 3-0 win away to newly promoted Oviedo.
The home side pushed Madrid hard in front of a packed Carlos Tartiere Stadium but was undone by a controversial call and missed chances at key moments on Sunday.
Mbappe opened the scoring in the 38th minute after a pass from Aurelien Tchouameni, although Oviedo players protested that the referee had failed to call a foul in the buildup.
Oviedo nearly equalized in the 83rd minute when Kwasi Sibo struck the post. Moments later, Mbappe netted his second after receiving a pass from substitute Vinicius Jr., who then added Madrid's third deep into stoppage time.
