Lucknow, Aug. 11 -- As the Monsoon Session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly begins today, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has urged both the ruling government and the opposition to ensure that the session is not merely a formality but a meaningful and constructive exercise.

She emphasized the need for both sides to "rise above political self-interest, bitterness, and hostility to work in the greater interest of the state and its people".
