Lucknow, Dec. 9 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday released a detailed statement on X about the ongoing discussions in Parliament on electoral reforms. She said while several improvements are being considered, three major reforms are essential to ensure a fair, transparent, and inclusive election process.
Mayawati clarified that the BSP is not opposed to the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) process being undertaken nationwide. However, she pointed out that the time period allotted for updating voter lists is extremely short, putting massive pressure on Booth Level Officers (BLOs), several of whom have lost their lives due to work-related stress.
