Lucknow, Oct. 9 -- In a strong display of political might, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati addressed a massive rally at the Kanshiram Smarak in Lucknow yesterday.
The event drew lakhs of supporters from five states, including Bihar, Punjab, and Haryana.
Men, women, and children from various communities attended the rally, filling the entire venue, which has a capacity of about 1.5 lakh people.
The heavy turnout led to traffic snarls in several nearby areas.
In a first for the BSP, other party leaders were seen sharing the stage with Mayawati.
A special chair was placed for her, while sofas were arranged for senior leaders representing different communities.
