Lucknow, Oct. 11 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati today demanded a probe into the death of Y Puran Kumar, a senior IG-rank police officer in Haryana, and said strict action should be taken against the culprits.
In a statement issued here, Mayawati said the suicide of Y Puran Kumar, a senior IG-rank police officer in Haryana, whose wife is also a senior IAS officer, due to caste-based harassment and oppression, has shocked the entire nation. "Dalits and Bahujan Samaj members are deeply agitated," she said.
