Shimla, May 13 -- The first fortnight of May in Himachal Pradesh has brought relief from the early summer heat, with cooler-than-normal temperatures and increased rainfall.
According to the Meteorological Department, the state recorded 18 per cent more rainfall than usual, with wet weather prevailing on seven to eight days.
The average rainfall recorded across the state from May 1 to 13 was 34.1 mm, compared to the normal of 28.9 mm. While this marked a generally wetter-than-usual start to May, rainfall distribution varied across regions.
Sirmaur district received the highest average rainfall at 75.9 mm, which is 291 per cent above normal, followed by Solan at 70.4 mm (216 per cent above normal), Bilaspur at 47.7 mm (208 per cent above ...
