Chennai, April 30 -- Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer on Wednesday confirmed that Australian allrounder Glenn Maxwell has sustained a fractured finger and remains unavailable for selection, adding that the team is yet to decide on a replacement.

"It's unfortunate that he's got a fractured finger," Iyer said at the toss against Punjab Kings. "We haven't decided on a replacement so far," he added.

Maxwell's injury comes at a time when Punjab are seeking stability in the middle order and experience with the ball. The Australian has endured a difficult IPL 2025 season, managing just 48 runs in six innings. However, with the ball, he has been relatively effective, claiming four wickets.
