Chennai, Aug. 1 -- Flush with funds raised from private equity, eye care chain Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals plans to have 100 hospitals in eight to ten months time, said a top company official.

Out of the new additions-about 35 hospitals-one-third will be brownfield or conversions of existing eye hospitals to the Maxivision brand, and two-thirds will be greenfield projects, said Dr GSK Velu, Chairman and managing director, to media here today.

Currently the company has 65 eye hospitals and 30 vision centres, where investigations for eye ailments will be done.

Velu said the company will be investing about Rs 400 crore in expanding its network in Tamil Nadu, of which Rs 100 crore will be in Chennai.
